Lynne Havusha, CRES Employment Specialist

Lynne Havusha is an Employment Specialist in NAAM’s Comprehensive Refugee Employment Services (CRES) program. A Massachusetts native, Lynne earned a B.A. in Psychology from Simmons College and a M.Ed. in Community Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern University. Early in her career, Lynne worked as a mental health counselor in Brookline, MA, and then in Jerusalem, Israel. After returning from a three-year sojourn in Israel, she worked for many years as an educator at the Epstein Hillel School (formerly Cohen Hillel Academy,) a Jewish day school in Marblehead, MA, first as a Hebrew language teacher and eventually as Director of Student Services.

Over the winter of 2016-2017, after a brief retirement from her career in education, Lynne decided that the time was right to engage in the mission of welcoming newcomers to our country. A Google search led her to the New American Center, and “the rest is history.” She could not be more grateful for her experience as a member of the NAAM family, and she is inspired every day by the strength, resilience, and spirit of her clients.
